Categories¶
Categories are used as a way of filtering Events. For example, you could have a category for adverts, and one for TV shows. When searching for a specific event, you could filter to only display TV shows.
The Categories page is where you can view , create, edit, and delete Categories.
The page is split into two sides:
Add/Edit Category¶
This section is displayed on the left side of the page.
By default, this is used to add new categories. If you click on an existing category in the Current Categories section, this will update to edit that category. If you are editing an existing category, there will be an orange “Cancel Editing” button displayed next to the save button.
Current Categories¶
This section is displayed on the right side of the page.
In this section you will see a list of all the current categories on the system. From this list you can see:
- Label
- Name
- Description
In the Actions column, you will see two buttons: a Red X button to delete the category, and a blue table button which will allow users to view/edit the custom properties for that category on a separate page, as explained in the next section.
Custom Properties section¶
The Custom Properties page is used to fill out additional Category, Key and Value information into an existing Category on VCH. The Custom Property page also allows you to view , create and delete Custom Properties.
The page is split into two sides:
Add Custom Property¶
This section is displayed on the left side of the page.
This is used to add new custom properties onto a Category.
Category Custom Properties¶
This section is displayed on the right side of the page.
In this section you will see a list of all the current custom properties on the system. From this list you can see:
- Category
- Key
- Value
In the Actions column, you will see a red X button which allows you to delete that Custom Property.
